Guess...we Mossies are too busy proving to the world that we're clean & we're the best. Why give an impression of a guilty conscious community when we are not...I believe that the long lived medieval supremacy of the Muslims has instilled the non-removable genes of 'Super Egoism & Narrow Mindedness' in us over generations, which have made us so repulsive to criticism.
Coming from a Brand Management background, I would want to compare religions to the theories of brand management, where religion is the brand & its followers are loyal customers. Now picture this, a few years back, the Colas were dragged into a controversy on the pesticide issue. Coke spent crores clarifying the guilt, but Pepsi didin't really bother to shout aloud. They immediately rectified the problem that was due to ground water usage in the plants & moved on to doing strong social initiatives on the cleanliness of water. They didn't shout about this either, but subtle PR made them earn more respect than Coke. Coke had also managed to successfully solve the issue, but by aggressively shouting innocence, Coke was remembered more for the issue than Pepsi.
The analogy that I want to draw through this example is that, when a finger is being pointed at you in the mass, singing the innocence song will not help make it better but further add in to the damages. I'm not at all hinting at not replying back. One needs to reply, but with actions that are appreciated in the mass that earn respect. If the community is being blamed at, join hands & ensure by your actions that opinions change & this time for the good. Guyz, if you agree to this, let's brainstorm & device a manifesto for the community. A manifesto to govern the actions & ideologies of the Muslims to the effect of earning respect. This manifesto can be circulated across media to bring about a change!Upliftment has to happen in the minds, education & employment will be earned from there. And there's no point posting point of views on this page if they don't lead to action!Thanx for bearing me through this article. I've just expressed my thoughts being a Muslim myslef. No offence to any one!
